ust exquisite!!! Vintage 1891 Lancaster Flow Blue New Wharf Luncheon Plates-Set of 4. Made in England.
Some quick history on Flow Blue. In the late 18th Century Chinese Porcelain was extremely sought-after in England. The rich blue patterns, flower design on a bright white background were limited to the wealthier class. Sources claim that the coloring agent diffused by accident allowing the cobalt blue to bleed slightly creating "Flow Blue" effect. This resulted with the pattern being so pretty, popular and quite expensive.
These plates are just so pretty they show the use of Floral Antique Blue Flowers around the plate and center with a scallops on the edge. They measure 9" in DIameter. For the plates being as old as they are, they are in remarkable condition. Very little crazing to none, a few nicks or chips under some plates but not all and some factory dents. Very usable for use or display on the wall. 3 Sets of 4 plates available.
Selling elsewhere for $65.00 to $87.00 a plate without shipping. Ours are $50.00 a plate with shipping!
