May your plate be filled with the things that will nourish your soul: generous servings of sauces to savor, second helpings of unforgettable moments to share.

The sets of yesteryear were hauntingly beautiful with patterns to fit any table. Back then the dishes were a bit small in size about 9 5/8" in diameter , especially if produced in Europe and compared to the dishes of today which are usually 11" in diameter. The trends have changed from mid century to the present. Now a days we tend to eat more and that certainly reflects on today's dinnerware.

I do encourage anyone who does have an older or antique set of dishes to use them. We could all benefit from smaller portions and they are pretty and fun! You can find them here at our store (www.distinctivevintage.com) or shop your nearest thrift or consignment. Actually mixing and matching different Vintage plates can be fun, as we will show you on an upcoming Blog of a Wedding we put together using Vintage Dinnerware. Stay tuned!!!
